Your Background

  • A Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or geosciences combined with an MBA or post graduate business degree would be ideal although other relevant disciplines will be considered.
  • 20+ years\xe2\x80\x99 industry experience including 10+ years in leadership.
  • Must have global awareness and experience in cultural differences, deal making practices and processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability working across and ability to work effectively with others throughout the organization.
  • Ability to proactively and efficiently collaborate within the Company as well as with external parties to develop and implement best practices.
  • Strong strategic planning, influencing and deal making skills.
  • Experience in Oil Sands and/or Unconventional would be an asset.
  • Strong Reservoir & Production engineering background preferred, however experience in Production Engineering, Development planning, Operations, and Economics experience will be considered an asset.
Your Role with Our Team

This role reports directly to the VP - Operations, NA, is a key member of the CPNA Development & Production Leadership Team. It is responsible for leading the Operated Oil Sands Asset (Long Lake) for Development & Production, inclusive of brownfield development and production optimization & Greenfield development Plans.

This role is also a member of the Oil Sands Leadership Team and provides leadership for subsurface and production engineering support for operations, leadership for Reservoir & Reservoir Management & Optimization of the asset, and Development planning of Greenfield development project & sustaining wells pads. The role allows for a unique combination of focus on day-to-day production issues in conjunction with the longer-term strategic growth for the asset.
  • Responsible for CNOOC Petroleum North America\xe2\x80\x99s (CPNA) annual WP&B preparations, submissions & executions, and achieve annual KPIs effectively.
  • Responsible for annual OPEX budget estimations & implementations, enhance cost control & achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Set-up annual study objectives based on the WP&B & goals, organize reviews on those study outcomes.
  • Responsible for CPNA pre-FID, reservoir & production, reserve & resource, and facility integrity managements, maximum subsurface & surface potentials & achieve safe production targets.
  • Establish CPNA annual energy efficiency saving strategic & annual targets, oversee the implementation of annual work plans, monitor the changes of energy policies from regulators, provide technical supports with upper management decisions making.
  • Responsible for the establishment, reviewing, submission & execution of corporate digital transformation projects.
  • Ensure the deliverables of digital transformations are closely tied to the corporate business strategy & improve the quality/efficiency of the Long Lake oil sands project.
  • Develop and enhance development & production management regulations, Set-up work standard & quality requirements for oil & gas field development & production procedures.
  • Complete assignments as supervisor instructed.
