We are on the hunt for our next PAL and our team is seeking an experienced and detailed oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing team in St. John\'s, NL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of overseeing accounts payable operations. As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and implementing efficient processes to streamline the account\xe2\x80\x99s payable function.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Team Mentorship

• Lead a team of Accounts Payable employees with team members in local and remote locations.
• Manage the equitable distribution of tasks within the team.
• Ensure all team members have appropriate training and resources required to effectively complete their tasks.
• Provide transactional level support as needed.
• Controls & Processes

• Ensure financial controls are designed and operating effectively, while proactively looking for areas for enhancement.
• Safeguard the assets of the company by vigilantly managing the vendor master file and vendor banking information.
• Coordinate month end procedures and complete reconciliations.
• Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on maintaining and enhancing controls and building on efficiencies.
• Vendor Management

• Manage vendor relationships from an accounts payable perspective through timely and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.
• Completion of weekly payment runs.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working as an Accounts Payable Supervisor would be considered an asset.
• Experience managing a diverse team, with some team members working remotely.
• Results oriented approach to projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage vendor complaints in an effective manner.
• Strong communication skills, ability to motivate staff and build team engagement.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams through change.
• Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated performance management, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable risks and mitigating controls.
