The Opportunity:
Scope of the position
As the most senior member of the Accounts Payable team, the AP Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and support of the day-to-day operations of the AP Administrators and Specialists.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising and coaching of the AP team
Assist in setting priorities for the team and coordinate resources to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines
Assist with setting team goals and objectives
Create and update SOP's and process documentation for all AP processes
Compile performance reviews for team members and suggest corrective action where necessary
Liaise with the Accounting department for the review of requested GL balances
Assist with maintaining and administering the AP automation (Conexiom)
Assist with maintaining and administering the cloud software (Enlighten)
Responsible for Vendor Maintenance (creating new vendors and any other changes), ensure proper approvals and back-ups are in place from internal control perspective including initial EFT setup.
Process customer refunds
Process and maintain key vendor portfolios
Responsible for running/overseeing the weekly payments
Assist with AP related inquiries and requests from the audit team
Ensure timely reconciliation of vendor statements and invoice postings
Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and accounts in credit balances are collected
Code invoices with appropriate general ledger account numbers
Provide first contact to the AP team to ensure invoice discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
Lead and provide training to new hires
Provide relief and coverage for the team when needed
Continuously seek to improve Accounts Payable processes
Other administrative duties as required
Skills and Qualifications
More than 5 years accounts payable and general accounting experience
Preference to candidates with previous supervisory experience
Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures is an asset
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
Proficient in data entry and data management
Effective leadership and organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills
Confidentiality
Exceptional communication skills
Problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Epicor Prophet 21 experience is an asset
Teamwork attitude and results oriented
Professional business acumen
Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
What we offer:
The target wage range for this position is $65,000 to 75,000 CAD per annum . The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate's relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
