Job Summary

The successful applicant will be responsible for the whole accounts payable cycle to run smoothly including verifying, matching, posting invoices, running vendor payments, and filing. The individual will assist the Plant Accountant to ensure the financial records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.

Job Responsibilities




Processing Accounts Payable Reconciling vendor AP statements and corresponding with vendor Matching Purchase orders and reconciling differences Ability to manage relationships with vendors and co-workers to ensure vendor satisfaction Manage company bank accounts including file upload, remote deposit, and cheque cancellation Monitor utilities, corporate credit card, Rogers and other company accounts Be fully accountable for month-end closing and year-end closing including preparation of year-end binder Ensure full reconciliation between sub-ledgers and general ledger Be a backup for accounts receivable and payroll work and provide assistance, if necessary Streamline accounting processes and procedures Ad hoc projects Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Plant Accountant from time to time



Education and Skill Requirement




College diploma/university degree in accounting Possess 3-5 years accounts payable experience At least 3-5 years of full accounting cycle experience is preferable Working experience in manufacturing industry is desirable Working knowledge of Epicor is an asset Strong knowledge/experience with ERP systems Intermediate/advanced level of Excel skills MS Office ADP experience is an asset (Payroll module) Must be logical, organized, and have strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of individuals and functions throughout the company A positive attitude and willingness to work and learn Strong attention to detail Reliable and independent Strong team player

The use of appropriate safety equipment as described below is a condition of employment and not one of choice. Safety equipment that must be worn while on the shop floor are as follow:


Helmet

Flame retardant jacket

Safety glasses

Ear plugs

Safety boots

Respirator as required
