Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is directly responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing non-payroll accounts This includes maintaining ledgers, credit balances, and account irregularities. The A/P Clerk will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as purchase orders, travel reimbursements, stipends, and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities

Review, verify, and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Prepare and process payments (cheques, EFT, ACH, wire transfers) Maintain accurate vendor files and documentation Assist with month-end closing, accruals, and reporting Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper coding and approvals Support with special accounting projects as needed Assist with audits and compliance requirements

Qualifications

4+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
