Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager
to oversee the company's receivables and payables processes, client invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial operations, supporting cash flow management, and collaborating with internal teams to support overall business objectives.
Job Overview
The Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager is responsible for managing invoicing, collections, payment processing, and account reconciliation to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience with financial systems, and the ability to work closely with project management, finance, and human resources teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of
accounts receivable and accounts payable
, including invoicing, collections, and payments
Prepare, issue, and track
client invoices
Follow up with clients regarding
outstanding balances
Process and execute
supplier and subcontractor payments
Maintain accurate customer and vendor accounts in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Monitor
cash flow
and analyze accounts receivable aging reports
Implement and manage collection strategies for overdue accounts
Prepare
monthly revenue versus expenses reports
for management
Assist with
month-end closing
activities related to receivables and payables
Reconcile invoices, payments, and account statements
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely billing
Support audits by preparing detailed account reconciliation and financial reports
Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements
Coordinate with HR and payroll systems as required
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience managing
accounts payable and receivable
in a corporate environment at least 4 years experience.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, reconciliations, and financial analysis
Proficiency with accounting software such as
QuickBooks
(experience with Sage or similar systems is an asset)
Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms is an asset
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
Effective communication skills for internal coordination and client follow-ups
Experience in
engineering, construction, or consulting
is considered an asset
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (relevant experience will be considered)
