ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

JOB OVERVIEW

The Accounts Payable Clerk completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices including approvals if required
• Verifying invoice details to purchase orders
• Research discrepancies
• Coding invoices to appropriate expense or capital account
• Reconcile and post invoices for payment
• Reconcile payment listing before issuing cheques or Electronic Funds Transfer
• Clearing cheques and wire payments.
• Prepare accounts for wire transfer of funds
• Filing, scanning, and sorting as required
• Monitor the AP email inbox

Other

• Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

• Post-Secondary education complemented by one year of proven Accounting experience and/or related work experience
• Solid understanding of PST and GST regulation
• Proficient in Excel and Adobe
• Strong data entry skills
• Detail oriented and focus on accuracy
• Team Player
• Flexible and adaptable
• Good organizational skills
• Good communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
