AppleOne Employment Services is partnering with our client in the Burlington area for the role of Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk for direct hire. The successful candidate is a strong team player that is goal driven to contribute to individual, team, and company success.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE (AP) CLERK

SALARY: up to 55k

LOCATION: Burlington, ON

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for full cycle accounts payable process
• Handle supplier inquiries and reconcile supplier statements
• Updating accounts payable and issuing invoices
• Coding payables according to the general ledger
• Matching invoices and cheque requests
• Resolving payable discrepancies and responding to inquiries
• Updating financial data in databases to ensure accuracy of information
• Preparation of bank deposit
• Month-end journal entry preparation
• Wire remittance preparation
• Assist with analysis of accounts, monthly closings, and filings as required
• Provide weekly/monthly general ledger detail as required by various departments
• Bi-annual audit requirements
• Annual update and maintenance of the account reference guide

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Post-secondary education within accounting & finance
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members
• The ability to work independently and in a team
• High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to analyze, organize, summarize, and articulate accounting and payables information
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working with ERPs or other financial systems is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
