The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable and Payroll Supervisor to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Falconbridge), Ontario. This is a full-time, permanent, staff position. Work location is not accessible by public transportation. Duties and Accountabilities: Reporting to the Director of Finance the Accounts Payable and Payroll Supervisor is accountable for and tasked with managing the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions to ensure timely and accurate execution while adhering to legislation, accounting standards, and corporate policies & procedures. The incumbent works in close association with the Procurement and Human Resources Department as well as personnel from across Sudbury dependent on the AP/Payroll functions, including other Corporate departments outside of Sudbury such as Treasury, Accounting, Procurement, and Information Systems, all to manage and coordinate related activities, seeking opportunities to ensure that the organization is managing its financial resources and systems effectively and efficiently. This position has a direct effect on the short and long-term performance of Sudbury by ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendors and employees. Reporting directly to this position is the Accounts Payable/Payroll Analyst as well as unionized positions which include the Time and Payroll Analysts and the Accounts Payable / Time & Attendance Clerks. The position is also accountable for the administration of the Delegation of Authority and Mines Incentive System to ensure that it is accurate, equitable between sites, operates effectively as an incentive reward program and is consistent with company policy. Education and Skills The qualified candidate has a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field with a minimum 10 years of payroll and accounting experience. Additionally, the qualified candidate holds a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM), or equivalent, designation. It is essential that the incumbent is business-oriented, customer-focused and has a good working relationship with suppliers, employees, and site personnel. This position requires effective leadership and interpersonal skills. The incumbent works independently and has the ability to lead and prioritize work to meet commitments. Business and customer service orientation is essential. Solid communication and organizational skills are required to work effectively with competing deadlines for both payroll and accounts payable, as well as the ability to identify, recommend, and implement cost-effective initiatives to improve overall operational performance.
