Mid Island Co-op is hiring an Accounting/Customer Service Clerk ("Admin Clerk I" on CBA) at our Administration Office in Nanaimo.

Things you'll do:



Reporting to the Office Manager, this position is responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to Mid Island Co-op administration managers and its members, ensuring effective and efficient accounting operations.

Provide member services, which includes greeting and assisting visitors and answering phone calls and e-mails in a courteous manner, directing calls and accurately recording messages, and responding to membership inquiries, including patronage, equity, T4A, equity cheques, bulk fuel inquiries and deliveries. Process, reconcile and audit daily business. Process memberships (including transfers, age, moved, name changes, etc.). Manage incoming, outgoing mail and courier services. Manage meeting rooms, fleet vehicles, calendars and maintenance schedules. Manage and assist folding and large mailouts. Order and manage office supplies. Prepare and process journal entries. Carry out Accounts Payable duties including processing vendor invoices. Carry out Bulk Delivery duties, including reporting, processing member/customer payments, processing invoices and maintaining receiving books. Collaborate with Accounts Receivable department on payment processing, account balances and card maintenance, assisting with monthly AR statement and other departmental duties. Process patronage, data entry and balancing. Process and maintain gift card program. File maintenance and data entry. This role also requires strong communication, inter-personal and customer service skills, the ability to use critical thinking to evaluate situations, consider options and make informed decisions as well as the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
