Job Overview

A small, owner-operated business founded in 1973, located in North Vancouver, is a broker, importer, and distributor looking for a full-time Accounting Technician.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Technician will assist in all areas of financial accounting for 3 - 4 companies.

Responsibilities

Post journal entries, and reconcile accounts, maintain the general ledger through the careful recording and posting of transactions. Work with the Accounting manager to prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis. Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, and other government documents. Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports. Assist with month-end financial reporting requirements. Reconcile bank/credit card statements with the organization's financial records to ensure accuracy and avoid any discrepancies.

Requirements

Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g. Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Experience using accounting software - Connected would be an asset
