Jayce LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated

Accounting Technician

to support our team during the upcoming

T1 tax season

. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong bookkeeping, tax preparation, and client service skills who thrives in a fast-paced public accounting environment.

This full-time contract runs from

January 2026 to June 2026

.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Record Management

Manage clients' day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records

Payroll Processing

Process payroll, including pay calculations, statutory deductions, and direct deposits Prepare required payroll tax slips and summaries, including

T4, T4A, and T5

Tax Preparation & Compliance

Prepare and file

personal (T1)

tax returns Prepare

sales tax filings (HST/GST)

for business clients Register business numbers and tax accounts as needed Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and relevant tax regulations

Client Relationship Management

Serve as a primary point of contact for accounting and payroll-related inquiries Understand client needs and provide tailored, proactive support Build strong and trusted client relationships

Software & Systems

Use accounting software such as

QuickBooks

to manage client accounts Provide basic training to clients on bookkeeping software when required

Office & Administrative Support

Assist with general office administrative tasks as needed Support the accounting team with ad-hoc duties during peak workload periods

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 - 10 per week

Experience:

Bookkeeping: 2 years (preferred)
Work Location: In person
