Overview:

Do you love to hunt and fish? Then there is an amazing opportunity to work at a small accounting firm in Lethbridge, Alberta. Our firm specializes in the hunting and fishing industries and is looking for a technician that understands the needs of our clients. Working at our firm allows you the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in all aspects of file preparation. Here you will have the chance to see a file through from start to finish. We believe in our employees and empower them to succeed. This position is flexible, 20-40 hours per week with options of occasionally working from home as well. The hours of work and time of work are flexible with an understanding that the applicant will be expected to stay ahead of their workload.

Job duties:

The qualified individual would be responsible for:

-Preparation of year end working paper files for review by senior management

-Assisting with bookkeeping for clients on an as needed basis

-Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns

-Preparation and calculation of monthly payrolls and related ROE, T4 and T5 filings

-Some administration and IT related functions

Qualifications:

-Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant certification is preferred, but equivalent experience will be acceptable as well

-Proficiency in Excel, CaseWare, Taxprep, Sage 50, and Quickbooks is considered an asset

-Experience in a public accounting firm environment is preferred

-Must be able to think critically and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

-Must be able to work in a team setting, as well as on their own with little supervision

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
