Job Title:

Accounting Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, data entry, tax filing, and financial statement preparation using a range of accounting software. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) office.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain bookkeeping using software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, Caseware, and Profile. Perform accurate data entry to ensure financial records are up to date and reliable. Reconcile accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. Assist with payroll processing. Conduct account analysis to support budgeting and financial planning activities. Maintain organized records of financial transactions and prepare reports as needed. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by verifying account balances and preparing necessary documentation. Prepare corporate tax returns. Prepare T4, T5, and T5018 information slip filings.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, Caseware, and Profile. Experience communicating with governmental departments, particularly the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Strong background in bookkeeping, data entry, account reconciliation, and account analysis. Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and financial reporting standards. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail. Experience in Review Engagement is an asset. Ability to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
