Position Summary
The Accounting Technician will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and smooth accounting operations for a group of busy radiology clinics. This position is responsible for supporting the Finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment that balances patient care with business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely posting of transactions
Process accounts payable, including verifying invoices, coding expenses and preparing payments
Process accounts receivable, including posting payments from government agencies, insurance providers, patients and other third parties
Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank and account reconciliations
Assist in preparing month-end and year-end financial reports
Maintain records of capital assets and depreciation schedules
Support payroll preparation by compiling and verifying time and attendance data
Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis and financial forecasts
Ensure compliance with clinic policies, accounting standards and healthcare regulatory requirements
Provide support during financial audits and respond to auditor requests
Collaborate with clinic managers, radiologists and administrative staff to resolve accounting inquiries
Qualifications
Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; working toward CPA designation is an asset
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in healthcare or a clinic environment
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks or equivalent) and MS Excel.
Knowledge of healthcare billing systems and third-party payor processes is an asset
High attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented clinical environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
