The Role
Reporting to the Manager, the Accounting Technician works with a variety of clients in various industries. Our clients will look to you for assistance with a variety of filing requirements that help their businesses run smoothly. Working with the management team and the partners, you will contribute to the execution of bookkeeping tasks, financial reporting and government agencies required accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation of year end files including the production of financial statements, tax returns, and related supporting documentation for review by management.
Effective communication with our clients, with government agencies and with our partners and staff
Processes monthly financial transactions including bank, accounts receivable & payables, loans and credit card reconciliations
Effective communication with our clients, your colleagues, and external stakeholders such as the Canada Revenue Agency.
Demonstrate professionalism and competence in interactions with our clients.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in commerce, business, or a related field, with a concentration in accounting or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and/or personal tax file preparation, preferably in a public accounting firm setting.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other office-related computer software.
Proficiency with Sage and/or QuickBooks accounting software would be an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High degree of professionalism, a dedication to teamwork, and a commitment to integrity.
Bilingualism or working knowledge in French and English is
essential.
