WHAT YOU WILL DO





Reporting to the Senior VP, Corporate Services, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial transactions while providing reliable support to the business. This role also conducts administrative tasks in support on the accounting function. This role is a key part of our dynamic corporate team and reflects our core values of communication, community, excellence, health, and innovation

ACCOUNTABILITIES





Full cycle accounting


Manage and execute all accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable Preparation of wire, cheque and EFT payments Manage and complete bank and general ledger reconciliations Perform month-end closings Track fixed assets and maintain fixed asset continuity schedule Prepare the trial balance Track and maintain continuity schedules for Lease accounting (IFRS 16) and record appropriate quarterly journal entries

Financial analytics


Prepare, and analyze monthly and quarterly reporting for management Prepare, analyze and interpret monthly budget to actual variance analysis Review AP aged summary to identify any unusual activity or errors in bookkeeping Review and prepare AR aged summary for cash flow analysis

Administration


Respond to internal and external inquiries related to invoices and payments. Support audit and/or review engagements by assisting in providing information and schedules for auditors

Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned

WHAT YOU BRING



Experience




4+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills. Proficient with cloud-based accounting software.



Education





Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Bookkeeping, General Accounting, Finance or a related field is required Working towards or achievement of the CPA designation is an asset



Technical Competences





Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, SharePoint and QuickBooks are required. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is an asset.
