About the role




We’re looking for an Accounting Services Representative to join our growing team! As an Accounts Service Representative (temporary 6 months), you will be responding to phone inquiries in a call centre environment, while processing account schedule changes, bank information updates, reviewing premium refunds and final notices. With your legendary customer service skills, you will support the Accounts Receivable team in delivering exceptional service to our Brokers and Customers. Work location: St. John's NL (35 Blackmarsh Rd). *Please note this role currently requires ca minimum of 1 day a week in office for essential services and will require full in-office return once it is safe provincially following COVID protocols* What you'll do here:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to phone calls, mail and faxes from clients, brokers and underwriting regarding payments, refunds, billing arrangements, payment methods and account discrepancies.
  • Add or update banking information, amend payment schedules as required, process and review premium refunds.
  • Process cheque requisitions, cheque reversals, requests for stop payments, and write-offs within authorized limits to correct account balances.
  • Accurately process final notices and set up withdrawals as needed for final collection letters within appropriate guidelines.
  • Accurately complete daily payment reports
  • Maintain filing system. Participate in returning voicemail messages and ensure proper follow up on files when necessary.





Qualifications




What you bring to the table:
  • College diploma preferred
  • At least one year of customer service experience preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required
  • Strong customer service attitude to maintain favourable business relationships, negotiate tactfully and problem solve
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to organize and prioritize workload
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suites programs and computer savvy
  • Accurate data entry and keyboarding skills
