Job Purpose



The Accounting Services Manager plays a key role in overseeing the external client.

bookkeeping for the organization. This includes conducting thorough reviews of financial. Statements and audit packages, providing crucial support to the bookkeeping staff, engaging in regular consultations with clients and auditors to address accounting concerns, staying up to date with the latest accounting standards and best practices, and actively contributing to the organization's growth by managing the client base in relation to available capacity.

The Successful Candidate will need.



Knowledge of the provincial sport, culture, and recreation delivery system an asset.

Experience in the non-profit sector an asset.

High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial statements and audit packages.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to effectively address inquiries and issues clients, staff, and auditors.

Proficient in accounting software, proficiency in ACCPAC and asset, Proficient in MS Office, particularly excel.

Financial, analytical, attention to detail, organization, time management.

Manage a variety of tasks and adapt to unexpected interruptions.

Work with minimal supervision, contribute to a team environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities



Supervision of the client services team in their preparation of financial information on a monthly and annual basis.

Reviewing completed statements, verifying balance sheet listings, budget variance analysis on a monthly and annual basis.

Uphold and comply with accounting standards, best practices, and funding guidelines.

Overseeing the preparation of GST, PST, NPO Information, Charity and T2 returns.

Preparing and reviewing general ledger adjusting entries.

Preparation and review of audit packages.

Offer prompt support and effective communication in response to rising issues.

Maintain professional communication and collaboration with business partners ensuring consistent messaging across the organization.

Draft and sending memos to business partners as required.

Delivering workshops on understanding board fiscal responsibility and other best practices.

Training new client services accounting staff.

Assisting the CFO in monitoring, evaluating, and development of systems.

Preparation and analysis of special client reports as required.

Assist with department workflow as needed.

Qualifications and Experience



Completion of CPA designation. Will consider alternative education and substantial experience that would demonstrate the ability to perform the role without a CPA designation.

Minimum 5-7 years experience in a role that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties required of this position.

Working Conditions



Full time (37.5 hours per week).

Flexible hours. Evening and weekend work required periodically.

Pay: $84,000.00-$114,000.00 per year
