JOB SUMMARY Hestia is looking for high preforming individual for the role in accounting handling payroll and AR duties at the corporate office location in Calgary. The successful candidate must have a CPA Designation or working to it with experience in construction accounting. The candidate must work independently and collaborate as part of the accounting team, be responsible, organized and a good communicator. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare corporate bi-weekly payroll deliverables accurately and in an efficient manner.
  • Enter employee?s time sheets into Sage payroll system. Have knowledge and understanding of all payroll rules and regulations.
  • Calculate and remit payroll deductions to CRA.
  • Remit and pay benefit packages accordingly.
  • Reconcile source deduction, employee benefit, RRSP and WCB payable accounts.
  • Keep current on accounting and payroll best practices and government changes.
  • Review monthly costs per project and prepare initial project billing as per company process.
  • Review project billing with Accounting Manager and SVP, send out approved billing.
  • Other accounting duties and projects as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
  • Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to problem-solve and proactively identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively work in a deadline driven environment and handle a diverse workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to thrive supervising in a team environment, but also work independently.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor?s degree in accounting is an asset.
  • Member of Canadian Payroll Association is an asset.
  • Work experience with construction industry is preferred.
