Position Overview: Accounting Manager
As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the accounting department, managing client engagements, and providing strategic tax and financial guidance. You'll supervise a team of accounting professionals, ensure high-quality service delivery, and work closely with clients on complex accounting, tax planning, and compliance matters.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in Canadian tax and accounting standards, and a passion for helping both clients and team members succeed.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review full-cycle accounting engagements, including compilations (Notice to Reader), year-end financial statements, and tax filings
• Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeeping and tax specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Review and file complex personal (T1), trust (T3), and corporate (T2) income tax returns
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies for a variety of clients, including farm and small business owners
• Maintain strong client relationships and act as a primary contact for key accounts
• Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and ensure best practices are followed
• Collaborate with partners and leadership on firm-wide process improvements and client service initiatives
• Leverage technology to streamline operations and enhance client experience
• Participate in business development activities and contribute to strategic growth planning

What You Bring
Education & Experience

• 4 + years of progressive experience in public accounting, including leadership or supervisory experience
• Advanced knowledge of Canadian tax laws (T1, T2, T3) and ASPE, with experience in agriculture preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and accounting teams
• Proficiency in accounting software such as CaseWare, Taxprep, Xero, and iFirm
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
