Financial Reporting

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Provide regular financial reports for senior management
• Coordinate and facilitate external audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in developing annual budgets with department managers and senior management.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and explanations.
• Assist in the creation of financial forecasts and projections to support business planning and strategy.

Compliance & Regulatory

• Stay informed about changes in relevant accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise and guide accounting staff, provide training, and feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment
• Delegate tasks to ensure efficient team operation

Financial Analysis & Decision Support

• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance metrics and trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of proposed projects or initiatives.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Review and improve accounting systems and processes
• Lead efforts to implement new tools or processes to increase efficiency
• Continuously evaluate internal controls to reduce risks and improve accuracy.

Here is what you bring:

• Bachelor\'s degree in accounting
• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, required
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, an asset
• Proven competency with accounting software (preferably SAGE)
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365)
• Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting rules, laws, and reporting requirements, preferably in a non-profit environment
• Proven skills in critical thinking, analysis, and reasoning
• Ability to adapt and commit to additional hours as required to support operations during peak times
