Position Summary
We are looking for an Accounting Manager for Nespresso based at our Montreal office reporting into the Finance and Control Director. Your primary focus will be overseeing the Accounting operations within the Canadian market. Working in close collaboration with Nestle Business Services (NBS), you will assume the vital responsibility of optimizing and streamlining processes and procedures associated with these functions. Additionally, you will be entrusted with the management of the local accounting team, ensuring their seamless and efficient operation.

A day in the life of an Accounting Manager:
As an Accounting Manager, you will coordinate and manage period-end close and ensure accurate financial reporting. Ensure compliance with tax requirements in market and coordinate audits related to accounting.

You will also:
  • Manage local accounting team and oversee the operation of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Operations functions and Sales tax reporting
  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiencies, and drive solutions focusing on regional and global standardization.
  • Partner with FP&A and business partners to ensure the financial integrity.
  • Coordinate the implementation of improvements to streamline accounting processes in conjunction with Nestle Business Services (NBS).
  • Set targets in relation to accounting functions, monitor performance, identify trends, and initiate change to improve performance in conjunction with NBS
  • Coordinate period-end close process, review account reconciliation, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Work with other departments to apply accounting recommendations to operational issues to ensure accounting controls are maintained.
  • Ensure IFRS, Nestle policies (NAS), and tax and legal requirements are followed;
  • Follow responsibility for coaching and leading the local accounting team (6 direct reports);
  • Liaise with key contributors, including external auditors, government authorities, consultants, and functional internal division
  • Work with Nestle Treasury to ensure appropriate banking, payment processing infrastructure in place to achieve accounting objectives.
What will make you successful?
  • Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement, as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market
  • As the successful candidate, you will have superior communication skills, including excellent written and communication skills with an in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) a requirement
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years\' experience in a related area
  • Good Knowledge of IFRS
  • Minimum of 3 years\' experience in team management
  • Experience with a range of ERP systems an asset
