Manager, Accounting

Recruitment Partners is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Accounting to join our client\xe2\x80\x99s team in Calgary. Reporting to the CEO, the Manager of Accounting oversees accounting operations, manages all accounting records, publishes financial statements, and analyzes financial data. The successful candidate is responsible for budgeting and planning, monitoring expenditures to plan, and ensuring regulatory reporting and remittances.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with ASPE and internal accounting policies.
• Manage accounting system to ensure transactions are posted accurately and timely.
• Prepare various schedules for monthly journal entries relating to revenue, payroll, expenses, depreciation, accruals, loans, etc.
• Lead full cycle accounting.
• Prepare external financial reporting packages for external stakeholders.
• Analyze payroll costs.
• Prepare and review working Papers on key Balance Sheet Accounts reconciliations.
• Prepare GST returns and Source Deduction submissions.
• Review supplier invoices, payments, and employee expenses.
• Design and monitor internal control processes and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal and state regulations.
• Assist in ad hoc projects and analysis.
• Partner with FP&A.
• Coordinate and produce all year-end working papers and documentation for auditors.

Your strengths include:

• Relevant education and CPA designation are required
• 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
• Highly proficient in excel and other financial systems/applications
• Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
