About the Role

Freedom Concepts is looking for an Accounting Lead who thrives in a hands-on role and enjoys steering the ship while rolling up their sleeves and still contributing to carrying out the processes. This role will spend about 75% of their time performing core accounting and finance functions, and 25% leading projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.

As the Accounting Lead, they'll guide the accounting function for our growing manufacturing company and work closely with our Bookkeeper to keep operations running smoothly. The Accounting Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes, lead budgeting and reporting, and ensure compliance across tax filings, government submissions, and intercompany transactions. This person also serve as the knowledgeable back-up for day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and likes building structure in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Prepare accurate internal financial statements and departmental reports Lead the annual budgeting process and support rolling forecasts Track, manage, and report on capital assets Prepare and submit required tax filings, government reporting, and compliance documentation Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations

Operational Oversight

Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Benefits administration. Manage credit, collections, and vendor relationships to maintain financial discipline. Support system enhancements and efficiency improvements across departments.

Operational Accounting Support

Work alongside and oversee the bookkeeper, providing guidance and support Serve as back-up for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment processing, payroll, and corporate credit cards (Visas) Ensure day-to-day transactions flow accurately and on time Identify process improvements and help streamline workflows

Strategic Analysis & Decision Support

Partner with senior leadership to analyze performance, identify trends, and drive profitability. Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance system efficiency. Conduct ROI, break-even, and investment analyses to support business growth. Lead monthly and quarterly financial review meetings and contribute to strategic planning sessions.

What You Bring

CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment. Strong analytical mindset and business acumen with a focus on accuracy and process improvement. Proven ability to balance tactical execution with strategic insight. Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP, Ceridian) and Excel.

Salary Range:

To be discussed during the interview process but is depend upon year of experience and the specific skillset the successful candidate is bringing with them.
