Accounting Coordinator Central Services, 37.5 hours weeklyDuties will include:
Oversee District purchasing card program, including provision of inservice training for card holders and review of transactions to align with the District Purchasing Policy
Review and completion of Bank Reconciliations
Ensures procurement transactions are conducted in compliance with District policy, Agreement of
Internal Trade (AIT) and The Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA)
Acts as a resource/trainer for District personnel in matters related to purchasing and receiving
Coordinates with vendors for setting up accounts for supplies and equipment
Prepares and maintains vendor contracts and lists of qualified bidders
Prepares tender documents and requests for proposal, quote and information
Assist in the completion of year-end reconciliations
Prepare year-end T4A's and quarterly GST rebate submissions
Review and allocation of monthly funding revenue
Provide support to the school financial personnel as well as completing the ongoing requirements for general ledger activities and journal entries
Qualifications include:
Grade 12 education along with successful completion of post-secondary courses in a business program
Five years' experience with accounting and purchasing preferably with the public sector
Strong financial and data analysis along with computer literacy skills
Experience in development and training of financial concepts
Knowledge of tendering and purchasing procedures and relevant legislation
A positive attitude and strong customer service orientation with the ability to positively interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
