Position Overview



At St. John Ambulance we are proud of the community impact and training we provide. The role of the National Office is to provide support services and national leadership to the provincial/territorial SJA organizations (Councils) across Canada.

We are looking for a dynamic, well-rounded Accounting Coordinator to be responsible for the general accounting functions of the organization.

Responsibilities



Input and process vendor invoices

Review account coding to budget

Prepare and process payments, including wire transfers and ACH, and ensuring proper authorization and coding

Issue and reconcile accounts receivable invoices for monthly service fees, software licenses, projects and other recoverable expenses to Provincial Councils.

Prepare weekly bank deposits.

Reconcile all bank accounts, credit card payments, expense reports

Track and reconcile donation revenues.

Reconcile monthly general ledger accounts, including accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, Deferred revenue, Deferred Contributions and other receivables.

Actively involved in the month-end close

Assist with year-end audit preparation, including schedules and supporting documentation

Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications



College diploma in accounting, Finance with experience.

Experience in non-profit organizations, registered charity

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Experience working in a paperless, virtual environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset.

Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary range is commensurate with experience ($50,000 - $55,000 per annum), including health benefits (Life, LTD, Health, Dental, Out of Country), company pension and three weeks' vacation. Overtime and schedule flexibility may be required depending on the work schedule.
