As part of Arch's Finance and Accounting team, this position reports to Accountant and Senior Manager, Financial Reporting.

Accountabilities and Key Functions:



The ideal candidate for this role is a person with a positive, can-do attitude, who is excited to roll up their sleeves and work on various unique and exciting projects. We are looking for someone with accounting/bookkeeping experience. The candidate must be organized, passionate, reliable and a results-driven professional. We are looking to fill a fast-paced, hands-on role.

The accounting clerk is responsible for the general accounting function of various entities including preparing journal entries, performing the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, general ledger transactions, bank account reconciliations, assisting with the compilation of monthly/quarterly financial reports and ad-hoc reports.

Key Functions include:



1.

Accounts Payable & Project Accounting



Process invoices, purchase orders, expense reports and vendor payments

Reconcile account statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Assist in AP and project related reporting

2.

General Ledger & Reporting



Perform monthly bank reconciliations and inter-company accounts reconciliations

Assist in the monthly close process for all group entities in the preparation of quarterly/annual financial statements

3.

Administrative & Compliance



Maintain digital and paper financial records and organize files

Support the team during audits, tax filings, and year-end processes

Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards, adequate internal controls, documentation and complete audit trails

Ad hoc analyses or other administrative tasks.

4.

Continuous Improvement



Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures

Support changes and improvements in process and documentation as required

Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures

Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.

5.

Team development



Provide input into our accounting team's goal setting process

Back up duties during absence of team members

Qualifications



A diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field

Minimum 2 years of full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting experience

Advanced level computer skills, specifically Excel and Outlook

Experience with accounting modules of Enterprise Resource Planning systems required; experience with NetSuite is considered an asset

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with competing deadlines

Ability to work independently in a small team environment

Deadline-oriented with strong learning agility

Enjoy a fast-paced environment and is highly professional, with excellent attention to detail
