Accounting Clerk

Accounting Clerk.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Data entry: accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, invoicing, credits, and other various accounting duties.

Assist with period-end and year-end closing activities.

Participate in year-end inventory procedures.

Back up for payroll processing.

Assist in answering the switchboard, transferring calls, and greeting visitors.

Other duties as assigned.

Education Required:

Minimum Grade 12; technical or community college training in office administration would be an asset.

Experience:

Minimum five years of accounting/office experience

Skills and Knowledge:

Must work well under pressure, be able to juggle many projects simultaneously, and have strong prioritization and time management skills

Proven ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Personal Characteristics:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Must also have an excellent sense of priorities.

Strong work ethic

High attention to detail.

This position is temporary, Monday to Friday, but may lead to a permanent position.

Additional hours are required during year-end.
