Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. This role is crucial for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties



Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable by processing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances. Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies as needed. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for management review. Support payroll processing using Kronos and ensure timely payment to employees. Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency in financial operations. Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documentation for audit purposes. Keeping track of inventory items, purchase orders, shipping and receiving. Assist with payroll processing, including timesheet tracking and payroll-related inquiries. Statutory filings: GST, PST and WCB Communicate and build relationships with vendors to resolve billing and payment issues. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports. Assist with general office and accounting administrative duties as needed.

Requirements



Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Strong understanding of accounts receivable / payable processes and account reconciliation techniques. Excellent mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Previous experience in financial services or a similar accounting role is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
