Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. The successful candidate will also run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable, receivable, receipts and disbursements. The ideal candidate should be familiar with all accounting procedures and sure that the company's daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Duties
Reconcile daily cash clearing
Prepare bank deposits
Post accounts payable invoices daily and allocate charges to the
appropriate G/L
Reconcile statements of account with the ledger and ensures
payments take place within the dealership time frames
Prepare monthly accounts payable cheques
Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
Enter key data of financial transaction in database
Provide assistance and support to company personnel
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation
problems and discrepancies
Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity
areas
Function in accordance with established standards, procedures
and applicable laws
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting
department
Experience
Intermediate knowledge of accounts payable, accounts
receivable, general ledger and accounting procedures
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work based on month end
and year end accounting cycles and financial reporting deadlines
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
Ability to work with a team to establish effective working
relationships
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Date entry and word processing skills
