is responsible for processing and ensuring accuracy of financial records through clerical and administrative duties. General tasks include payroll processing, accounts payable/accounts receivable, assisting with reporting, research and resolving discrepancies.

Position Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Function
Coding and entering vendor invoices, performing a three-way match where required, noting discrepancies and following up
Entering employee expense claims
Matching visa statements with supporting documents and entering transactions, following up on discrepancies with the cardholder and internal team members
Preparation of cheques, wire, and bill payments
Reconciling supplier statements with internal records
Ensuring that all vendors are paid in a timely manner
Monitoring the accounts payable e-mail box and following up on all vendor inquiries
Maintaining the A/P sub-ledger
Accounts Receivable Function
Coding, entering and sending customer invoices for billing
Prepare bank deposits
Enter cash receipts, noting discrepancies and following up
Monitoring the accounts receivable e-mail box and following up on all customer inquiries
Perform customer collection calls
Maintaining A/R sub-ledger
Other Accounting Functions
Ensuring reconciliations are performed for accounts payable and receivable subledgers, as well as other balance sheet accounts at month-end
Reconciliation of intercompany transactions
Adhoc reporting as required
Education
Completion of college or other related courses in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Payroll Administration or other related field.
Experience
2+ years' experience in accounting and/or payroll capacity.
Skills:
Understanding of provincial and national governing legislation
Experience with systems such as MS Office Suite, ACCPAC, Simply Accounting, and/or Easy Pay is considered an asset.
Strong data entry and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent knowledge of filing, financial and accounting computerized and manual systems.
Ability to work independently to prioritize work, balanced with leadership direction.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel.
