Job Description

Robert Half has an open position for an Accounting Clerk, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / temporary employment based in the Guelph, Ontario area. Do you enjoy being part of a team-oriented environment? Your responsibilities

- Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Post financial information to journals and ledgers

- Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

- Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

- Contribute to Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, and apply cash receipt

- Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

- Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

- Proficiency in Simply Accounting

- Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Experience with general ledger

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
