We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including data entry, account reconciliation, and financial record maintenance, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday is highly desirable. The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's financial operations.
Responsibilities
Perform data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions using Quickbooks Advanced.
Reconcile accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
Process payroll using systems such as ADP and Ceridian
Assist with journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger maintenance in accordance with GAAP and corporate accounting standards
Support month-end and year-end closing processes including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with SOX controls where applicable
Assist in budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation as needed
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
Support payroll management activities including tax filings and employee data updates
Collaborate with internal teams on technical accounting projects and process improvements
Requirements
Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments; public accounting experience is a plus
Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial concepts
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian or UltiPro
Experience with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is preferred
Knowledge of account reconciliation procedures including balance sheet reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping
Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll and financial reporting
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing)
Ability to perform complex account analysis involving debits & credits and journal entries
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills combined with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
