Job Description

Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for an influential organization. You will perform a range of Accounting Clerical duties including, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This permanent role is for an Accounting Clerk in the Brantford, Ontario, area.

Responsibilities

- Assist with other related duties and special projects as assigned

- Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Support Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and helping with collection of past due balances

- Produce statements and reports using a variety of sources

- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Support accounts payable by filing vendor invoice and disbursements and by matching & filing A/P invoices

- Resolve discrepancies by examining possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts; generate correction documents as required

- Manually or electronically post financial information

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

- 1+ years of accounting experience required

- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

- Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized

- Proficiency in Monthly Account Reconciliation

- Purchase Orders experience

- Epicor Erp experience is an asset

- Command of Month-end Journal Entries

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
