We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join the Finance team working from our Argen Canada head office in Kelowna. This role is focused on daily transactional accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and maintaining accurate documentation to support month end close. Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
Maintain vendor records and documentation.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with preparation of payment runs (cheques, wires, PADs).
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Post customer payments and apply cash accurately.
Reconcile customer accounts and follow up on discrepancies.
Prepare and send customer statements as needed.
Support credit and collections activities.
Respond to customer inquiries professionally and promptly.
Month-End Support
Prepare basic reconciliations including AR, AP, deposits and prepaid balances.
Assist with gathering supporting documents for journal entries.
Support inventory and receiving teams with invoice and receipt matching.
Assist with bank reconciliation preparation and follow-up items.
General Accounting Support
Maintain accurate digital files to support audit readiness.
Assist with documentation collection for year-end audit requests.
Respond to vendor, customer, and internal inquiries.
Support finance-related projects, data entry and administrative tasks.
Identify and suggest improvements to accounting processes.
Skills
1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR or administrative finance roles.
Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Excel; experience with ERP systems is an asset (QAD experience a plus).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and support others.
