Job Overview
This is a full-time

role for an Accounting Associate located in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This individual must be a QuickBooks professional who will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records. They will also be required to establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements, Daily A/R, A/P adjustments, and bills upload to QuickBooks, as well as Prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports.
Duties
Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare journal entries and maintain meticulous records for all financial activities.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
Collaborate with team members to conduct account analysis, credit analysis, and financial reporting.
Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, or Xero for effective financial management.
Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and assist in audits as needed.
Experience
Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles is preferred.
Proficiency in Accounting Software and tools such as QuickBooks
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and financial compliance
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry
