Compact Compression Inc., a privately owned Calgary based company that manufactures low horsepower gas compression systems for the oil and gas business, is hiring a full-time permanent Accounting Associate.
The Accounting Associate will have a solid understanding of accounting, be experienced in accounts receivable, general ledger, Excel and enjoy working with a team. Reporting to Controller, this position will perform accounts receivable functions including customer billing, collections, payments, responding to customer enquiries and performing general accounting functions.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare customer billing, reconciliations, maintain customer files, and contracts.
Monitor customer aging and follow-up on overdue accounts; managing collections with clients.
Researching, tracking, and resolving discrepancies in accounting or documentation.
Preparing general ledger postings and reconciliation.
Participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Assist with annual review.
Continuously updating job knowledge and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting.
Minimum 2 years of accounts receivable experience.
Full cycle accounting knowledge combined with strong computer proficiency.
Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Diplomacy and tact in handling challenging customers.
Experience in Aquilon an asset.
