Job Description

Harris, Sheaffer LLP is a boutique Toronto-based law firm who represents a broad range of local, national and international clients in the real estate sector. We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support one of our team with a high volume of daily administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:



Process high volume of incoming and outgoing trust fund transactions with accuracy and efficiency Reconcile daily bank transactions and client trust accounts Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and perform filing duties related to responsibilities Assist with processing and recording accounts payable and expense reports Provide administrative support to the Accounting Manager and team as needed Maintain and support internal accounting controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance

Qualifications:



Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PCLaw or similar systems) Able to process a high volume of work while maintaining extreme accuracy and attention to detail Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Work cooperatively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment

Nice to Have:



Experience working in a legal office or professional services firm Familiarity with trust accounting practices and Law Society compliance
