Accounting coordinator / specialist / bookkeeper wanted!

Our Surrey-based client has established itself as a supplier of laboratory building materials and refurbishment projects. Operating for over many years, they have gained the trust of numerous clients throughout British Columbia by prioritizing and maintaining a high standard of quality.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Accounting Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the team with various accounting processes. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to maintain a consistent and steady work environment, while contributing to both accounting and administration.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As the Bookkeeper, you will report to the Controller and work very closely with them on a daily basis. This position is based in Surrey, full-time. Responsibilities include:

• Performing complete bookkeeping duties
• Minor payroll duties
• Issuing invoices to customers
• Maintaining and reconciling accounts receivable and payable
• Customer liaison regarding invoice discrepancies etc.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reporting for month-end and year-end
• Submitting government filings, such as GST returns, payroll remittances, and WCB remittances

THE REQUIREMENTS

• 1+ years of accounting experience
• Bookkeeping certificate or accounting diploma is an asset - will consider candidates working towards this.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel
• Drivers license + own vehicle
• Able to work onsite everyday

COMPENSATION

• $50,000 to $58,000, depending on experience
• 2 weeks vacation
• Extended health and dental benefits after 3 months
