RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and file returns for more complex State and Local Taxes including Income and Franchise Tax, Sales and Use Tax, and Property Tax
  • Monitor and maintain the tax compliance calendar to ensure all filings are completed on a timely basis
  • Perform research with respect to tax notices and responses as necessary
  • Proactively research items related to sales tax and property tax filing requirements and find ways to streamline the processes
  • Assist with or manage indirect tax audits by state/local taxing authorities. Ensure that any audit findings are addressed and any required changes or processes are implemented in a timely manner and approved by the Controller and Director of Tax
  • Lead the US and Canada government agency census survey process
  • Prepare Canada\xe2\x80\x99s monthly sales tax calculation and ensure timely payment and filed returns
  • Assist with annual 1099 compliance for US legal entities
  • Assist with monthly financial reviews for various US legal entities, including flux analysis
  • Help prepare cash forecasting models for US legal entities

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred (public or private); experience in sales tax encouraged
  • CPA is a plus, but not required for this role
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively work with multiple departments
  • Strong proficiency using Excel
