We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Analyst to support the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CargoWise accounting software and strong analytical abilities to ensure reliable financial data across all accounting functions.
In this role, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. This position plays a key part in maintaining the organization's financial health, delivering precise reports, and supporting informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as Cargowise.
Process vendor payments, ensuring they are made accurately and on time
Monitor AR aging and proactively follow up on past-due accounts.
Prepare AR reports for management, highlighting risks and collection status.
Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
Record and monitor accounts payable and receivable transactions to ensure timely processing.
Filing of all government related documents such as HST
Day to day journal entries
Perform account reconciliations for bank statements and internal accounts to verify accuracy.
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audit purposes.
Support year-end closing processes with accurate data entry and reconciliation.
Experience
Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, specifically in the logistics industry.
Proficiency in CargoWise accounting/ERP systems is required.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Proven experience in accounts receivable/payable management or a similar role within an accounting environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external parties.
