The Opportunity:

As an Accounting Analyst, you'll provide financial and administrative support for the Company by:



Collaborating with the Finance and Accounting team on financial and regulatory reporting. Supporting the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports. Assisting with process improvements and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Training and mentoring new staff members entering the Accounting Technician role.

What You'll Do:

Review and process invoices, employee, Director and Executive expenses to ensure accuracy and proper approval. Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Company, Pension Plan, ARSP, and PMF. Prepare premiums, commissions, investments, and loss reports to support financial and regulatory reporting. Review reconciliations and other financial transactions prepared by Accounting Technicians. Support year-end audit preparation and completion of required regulatory filings (e.g., OSFI, GISA, CCIR, Statistics Canada). Prepare quarterly and annual submissions and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Process monthly sales tax remittances and other regulatory compliance requirements. Review and verify ARSP transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards. Train and mentor new Accounting Technicians to ensure consistent financial practices.

What You'll Bring:

Minimum 1-year related experience in Accounting or Finance. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS) with the ability to learn new or updated software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Accuracy is an important attribute in this position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of confidentiality. Ability to work independently and is self-motivated to work in a fast-paced changing environment. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards is considered an asset.
