Eau Claire Athletic Club (ECAC) and Telsec are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Accounting & Analysis Specialist to join our team.
This role blends full-cycle accounting responsibilities with operational analysis, supporting the COO and Controller to ensure ECAC operates efficiently, accurately, and with strong data-driven decision-making. Role Purpose
The Accounting & Analysis Specialist will play a key role in keeping our accounting functions running smoothly, leading month-end billing procedures, and contributing to a range of daily accounting responsibilities that support the company's financial health. The successful candidate will provide financial clarity, operational insight, and analytical support across all ECAC departments--including F&B, Cafe, Spa, Wellness, Facilities, and Membership. The Specialist will also identify and support opportunities to improve systems and processes across the Club.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations
Support and manage AP/AR cycles, reconciliations, daily controls, and month-end financial statements
Prepare biweekly payroll working papers
Lead member billing process and prepare month-end invoices accurately and on time, consolidating data from multiple platforms into QuickBooks.
Reconcile and prepare GST returns.
Ensure consistency of member data across all platforms.
Maintain complete departmental reporting and cost tracking.
Ensure financial records are clean, timely, and reliable.
Support the Controller in improving the accuracy and efficiency of accounting workflows.
2. Operational Analysis
Analyze membership trends, class performance, labour productivity, and key revenue drivers.
Assist in developing financial and operational models to support decision-making surrounding labour, costing, and revenue optimization
Support the COO and department leaders with financial clarity and actionable insights.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
3. Systems, Technology & Process Improvement
Use, maintain, and integrate accounting, payroll, inventory, and membership management systems to increase efficiency.
Support improvements to QuickBooks, WellnessLiving, POS, and related platforms.
Evaluate and recommend new tools or platforms to improve efficiency and Member experience as needed
4. Leadership & Influence
Communicate insights clearly to the COO and Controller.
Strengthen financial literacy across departments and act as a resource for day-to-day accounting questions.
Support customer-facing staff in responding to member inquiries as needed.
Provide proactive recommendations to improve performance, accuracy, and accountability.
Candidate Profile
3-6 years of accounting and analysis experience; full-cycle accounting experience preferred
Strong Excel proficiency and ability to manipulate, analyze, and model data
High attention to detail, accuracy, and process discipline.
Comfortable learning and improving new technology platforms.
Energetic, growth-oriented, and willing to work hard.
Strong communicator who can partner with leadership.
