We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Canadian accounting practices, a solid understanding of financial compliance, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
Lead quarterly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all records and reconciliations are complete and accurate.
Maintain and balance general ledgers and sub-ledgers, verifying consistency with supporting documentation.
Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as necessary.
Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets and perform monthly variance analysis with explanations.
Identify, analyze, and reconcile financial discrepancies through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Oversee tax filings and address related issues, including objections or audit inquiries.
Support government audits by preparing required documentation and ensuring compliance.
Review financial schedules prepared by external accountants (T2 and CO17) to ensure accuracy.
Develop and implement internal accounting policies, procedures, and control systems.
Prepare ad-hoc reports and provide financial insights as requested by management.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting and year-end closing experience in Canada.
Languages: Fluency in English (spoken and written) required; French is considered an asset.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and time-management skills.
Work Style: Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Location:

Responsabilites principales

Preparer des etats financiers mensuels, trimestriels et annuels precis et conformes aux normes comptables en vigueur.
Diriger les processus de cloture trimestrielle et de fin d'exercice, en veillant a l'exactitude et a la completude des registres.
Maintenir et equilibrer les grands livres et sous-comptes, en assurant la coherence avec les pieces justificatives.
Effectuer les rapprochements bancaires et de cartes de credit mensuels et resoudre les ecarts au besoin.
Collaborer avec la direction pour preparer les budgets annuels et effectuer des analyses de variances mensuelles avec interpretation.
Identifier, analyser et resoudre les ecarts comptables grace a des competences analytiques solides.
Superviser les declarations fiscales et traiter toute objection ou demande liee a une verification.
Soutenir les audits gouvernementaux en preparant la documentation requise et en assurant la conformite.
Examiner les tableaux financiers prepares par les comptables externes (T2 et CO17) pour en verifier l'exactitude.
Elaborer et mettre en oeuvre des politiques, procedures et controles internes en matiere de comptabilite.
Preparer des rapports ponctuels et fournir des analyses financieres a la demande de la direction.
Qualifications
Formation :
Diplome universitaire en comptabilite (obligatoire).
Experience :
Minimum de 2 ans d'experience en comptabilite complete (full-cycle) et en cloture de fin d'annee au Canada.
Langues :
Maitrise de l'anglais parle et ecrit (obligatoire) ; la connaissance du francais est un atout.
Competences techniques :
Bonne maitrise de QuickBooks et de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Competences personnelles :
Excellente attention aux details, sens de l'organisation et gestion efficace du temps.
Autonomie :
Capacite a travailler de maniere independante et a gerer plusieurs priorites dans un environnement dynamique.
