We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The candidate should be able to analyze company financials, prepare internal reports and perform other accounting tasks. Previous experience working in an accounting office is preferred, but not necessary for those with excellent organizational skills and patience for accounting procedures. The successful candidate will be providing accounting services to three Scarborough- based non-profit companies who are dedicated to providing exceptional service for stakeholders: the Scarborough Basketball Association (SBA), the Canadian Office Products Association (COPA), and the Canadian Home Products Trade Association (CHPTA). Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages (including financial statements and supporting schedules)
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports required by stakeholders
• Prepare required reports for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and assist in resolution of auditor queries and issues
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Prepare HST quarterly returns
• Prepare Budgets
• Perform and answer queries on variance analysis on quarterly and annual reporting
• Review and record account adjustment and write-offs
• Prepare and/or review operating costs
• Guide and direct the junior bookkeeper
• Record financial transactions in an organized and timely manner
• Monitor cash flow in order to flag areas of concern.
• Advise how to improve the financial performance of their companies.
