Accountant / Accounting Analyst
Location: Toronto, ON M5G 1N8 (Transit Accessible)
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 + two weeks' vacation
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Fully In-Office)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant/Accounting Analyst for a full-time, permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (ASPE). This position is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting knowledge, ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred), and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Record and maintain financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (ASPE)
Prepare and post journal entries
Support daily and month-end processes, including account reconciliations (intercompany, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, etc.)
Process bank deposits and reconcile bank/credit card statements
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements
Maintain accounting schedules and records
Contribute to system implementations and integrations
Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency
Perform ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as required
Requirements:
College or University degree in Finance or Accounting
Strong knowledge of GAAP (ASPE)
Experience managing all aspects of financial records and reporting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
ERP experience (NetSuite preferred)
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently
