Job Summary:



We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented

Accountant

to manage the financial operations of our growing

moving and logistics company

. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience in service-based industries, and the ability to manage multiple financial processes from invoicing and payroll to reconciling vendor accounts and analyzing profitability by job or route.

Key Responsibilities:



Maintain accurate financial records, including job costing and billing for moving services. Reconcile daily transactions from dispatch, fuel cards, tolls, and driver logs. Manage accounts payable (e.g., fuel vendors, equipment leases) and accounts receivable (customer billing). Prepare customer invoices and ensure timely collections. Track and report on key financial metrics, such as cost-per-move and profit margins by job. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports. Support payroll processing for drivers, movers, and office staff (including hourly and contract workers). Monitor cash flow and coordinate with management to manage expenses and budgeting. Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting for seasonal business fluctuations. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, DOT requirements (if applicable), and internal policies.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or service-based industries. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or industry-specific tools). Strong knowledge of job costing and project-based accounting. Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience with transportation or moving company accounting processes. Familiarity with dispatch and logistics systems. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling, cost analysis). Knowledge of fuel tax reporting, DOT compliance tracking, and fleet accounting.
