Position Summary
Reporting to the Controller, and working closely with the Director of Whistler.com, the Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting for Whistler.com and all aspects of accounting policy and procedures related to the operational departments within Whistler.com.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect
Support and advise the operational department\xe2\x80\x99s customers and vendors as it relate to their financial requirements
Perform accounting tasks for Whistler.com, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bi-weekly cheque and EFT payruns, PST & GST remittances, and ensuring all expenses and revenues are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
Complete month-end processes, including the creation of the Whistler.com financial statements and all balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with preparing the yearly budget and monthly forecasting
Completion of year-end and working papers for annual audit review
Perform daily cash-out procedures
Assist staff with financial queries as needed
Ad hoc projects, reporting and other duties as needed by the Controller
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Currently enrolled in a professional designation, or equivalent education and experience
Strong understanding of POS systems, and experience in trust accounting an asset
Previous experience in a mid-sized company accounts payable, accounts receivable processes, and bank reconciliations
Ability to work independently
Strong computer skills, with proven Excel and Outlook experience
Ability to effectively communicate with, and assist, non-accounting professionals
Ability to work with minimal supervision, stay organized and focus on details
Collaborative team player, with effective interpersonal skills and a strong sense of customer service
