Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting:
Manage all aspects of accounting, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
Payroll Administration:
Calculate and process monthly or bi-monthly payroll in accordance with Canadian regulations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file tax declarations (GST/HST, corporate tax, etc.) with Canadian authorities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Bank Account Setup Assistance:
Help facilitate the opening of a corporate bank account in Canada, coordinating with internal stakeholders and financial institutions as needed.
Advisory Support:
Provide ad-hoc accounting and compliance advice as necessary.
Qualifications
CPA designation (or in progress) in Canada is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in Canada, ideally working with small to medium-sized businesses.
Thorough understanding of Canadian payroll laws, CRA regulations, and corporate tax filing requirements.
Experience with cloud-based accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero) is an asset.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
